Empowering Women in Timor: The Impact of our Kolega Peaberry Coffee

We have formed a partnership with St Joseph's College in Brisbane and their Terrace Timor Network (TTN) project. Together, we have collaborated on the roasting of Single Origin coffee from Timor.

This special coffee, known as Kolega Timor Peaberry Coffee, is available in 1kg bags. For every bag sold, $10 will be generously donated to St Joseph's College and their Terrace Timor Network (TTN) project.

About the Terrace Timor Network (TTN) Project 

The Terrace Timor Network (TTN) Project is dedicated to supporting the empowerment of women and fostering economic development in the Emera region of Timor Leste. TTN focuses on directly funding programs that uplift communities in this area.

Currently, the TTN Project places a strong emphasis on the Ladies Livelihood Program. This program firmly believes that educating women and providing them with economic opportunities are powerful catalysts for the overall development of communities.

The Ladies Livelihood Program is actively engaged with 65 women, offering them education, skills training, and access to economic opportunities through a micro loan program.

Through these initiatives, the program strives to create positive change and improve the lives of individuals and the community as a whole.

Kolega Peaberry Coffee

Timor Single Origin is a Peaberry Timorese coffee that has flavours of black tea, cocoa and walnut. The sweet, lingering finish is complemented by aromatics of cedar, cocoa and vanilla. The coffee has a medium body and a sweet citrus acidity. 

The cooperative that farmed the beans (Cooperativa Café Timor) was founded in the wake of the destruction that was left behind in East Timor after it gained independence from Indonesia in 1999.

Today, the organisation has over 19,600 members and has implemented healthcare, business management programs, language lessons and computer lessons for its members.
