It feels a little lonely in here.

Let's change that.

Merlo launches new Timor Single Origin

Merlo Coffee is excited to announce a new Single Origin coffee from Timor that has been roasted in partnership with St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace.

$10 from the sale of every 1kg bag of Timor will be donated back to St Joseph's College and their Terrace Timor Network (TTN), which directly funds programs that empower women and support the economic development of communities in the Emera region of Timor Leste.

The current focus of TTN is the Ladies Livelihood Program. The core belief of this program is that providing women with education and economic development opportunities is one of the most effective ways to develop whole communities.
The Ladies Livelihood Program currently works with 65 women providing education, skills training, and access to economic opportunities through a micro loan program.
The new Timor Single Origin is a Peaberry Timorese coffee that has flavours of black tea, cocoa and walnut. The sweet, lingering finish is complemented by aromatics of cedar, cocoa and vanilla. The coffee has a medium body and a sweet citrus acidity.

The cooperative that farmed the beans (Cooperativa Café Timor) was founded in the wake of the destruction that was left behind in East Timor after it gained independence from Indonesia in 1999. Today, the organisation has over 19,600 members and has implemented healthcare, business management programs, language lessons and computer lessons for its members.

Please Note: As this is a limited edition coffee, it will be roasted on a Wednesday and dispatched in the days after this.

1kg bags are now available to purchase from our Online Store.
