SIGNATURE HOUSE ROAST

Big, bold Italian style richness crafted for your daily morning ritual.

Our flagship roast and Australia's favourite daily cup. Expertly crafted from five world-class Arabica origins and roasted fresh daily, this full-bodied blend delivers an indulgent base of rich dark cocoa and molasses rounded out by toasted hazelnut and sweet malt. Engineered to pull dense, syrupy crema on home espresso machines and bold enough to cut through full cream or plant-based milks without losing its punch.

WHAT REGULAR DRINKERS SAY
★★★★★

"So happy we made the switch to Merlo’s Espresso blend. It’s incredibly rich and smooth and if you’re a lover of soy milk (specifically Bonsoy) in your coffee, you’re in for a right treat-zero separation. Perfection!"

THE TASTE BENCHMARK

Fresh Roasted House Blend vs Supermarket Coffee

Commercial warehouse beans sit on grocery shelves for months losing their natural oils. Here is the difference in your morning cup.

Extraction & Crema BODY

Merlo Espresso: Pulls thick, viscous hazelnut crema packed with active emulsified aromatics.

Supermarket: Flat, watery extraction with thin foam that dissipates within seconds.

Milk Performance FLAVOUR

Merlo Espresso: Cuts cleanly through full cream, oat, or Bonsoy with rich chocolate depth and zero curdling.

Supermarket: Disappears into milk, tasting thin, bitter, and astringent without added sugar.

Freshness Timeline ROAST DATE

Merlo Espresso: Small-batch roasted daily in Brisbane and dispatched inside the ideal flavour window.

Supermarket: Sits in distribution warehouses and shelf displays for up to twelve months.

MASTER ROASTING

The 5-Origin Architecture

The Cocoa Foundation • Colombia & Brazil

High-altitude crops selected for dense body, rich molasses weight, and low cup acidity.

The Milk Sweetness • Papua New Guinea & Costa Rica

Introduces creamy milk chocolate sweetness into the mid-palate, lifted by warm toasted spice.

The Silky Finish • Nicaragua

Unites the origins into a velvety espresso extraction with a sweet malt finish and zero bitter edge.
