Arriba Arriba means "Up! Up!" in Spanish, and that pretty much sums it up. Named for its high-altitude origins, this is our lightest and fruitiest blend. It's the one to reach for if you want something clean, sweet, and easy to drink any time of day.
Arriba Arriba is made from 100% Arabica beans sourced from the high altitudes of Costa Rica, Colombia, and Nicaragua. We use Caturra and Catuai varietals from each origin, roasting them separately before blending to keep their individual characters intact.
The altitude is what sets this blend apart. Growing at height produces more concentrated flavours without any harsh bitterness, giving you sweet apricot and milk chocolate on the palate, a honey and floral blossom aroma, and a clean, soft finish.

Arriba Arriba is one of the most forgiving blends in the range. Black, it's clean and bright with those apricot and honey notes front and centre. With milk, it softens into something smooth and well-rounded. It also works really well in a plunger, stovetop, V60, or AeroPress.
1. How does this compare to other Merlo blends?
It's our lightest blend by body and our most fruit-forward. If you're used to something like our Espresso or Forza, this will taste noticeably different. It's not bold or heavy, it's sweet, clean, and gentle. A good choice if you're looking for something a bit less intense.
2. Is it good for milk-based coffees?
Yes, it works well with milk. The sweetness carries through nicely and you still get a smooth, balanced cup. It's a lighter latte or flat white than you'd get from our fuller-bodied blends, which some people prefer.
