An exciting project is underway at Merlo's headquarters in Eagle Farm with the arrival of a state-of-the-art Brambati coffee processing plant.
Over the next four months, 19 containers comprising 52 individual crates will be unpacked and assembled in Merlo's warehouse.
Giuseppe, a technician with Brambati, has travelled out to Brisbane from his home in Codevilla, Italy, to lead on the build.
He will work on the project alongside Merlo's Head Roaster Steve Olorenshaw and a team of workers.
The new plant naturally comes in a brilliant shade of Merlo blue and will be capable of roasting up to a ton of coffee an hour - a significant upgrade on our existing roaster in Bowen Hills.
The plant is capable of more than just roasting, and is instead an all encompassing solution that will create many efficiencies at all stages of the roasting process, from the storage of green beans to the finished product.
Once finished, the plant will take up half of Merlo's warehouse.
