At Merlo Coffee, we’re all about quality coffee and exceptional service—and our recent experience at the BMW Professional Golfers Association of Australia Championship was the perfect opportunity to showcase both.

At the end of December, we rolled into the prestigious Royal Queensland Golf Club, ready to fuel one of the biggest golfing events of the year. The atmosphere was electric. Over 90,000 spectators gathered in Brisbane to witness golfing stars like Cameron Smith, Min Woo Lee, Ryan Fox, and defending champion Elvis Smylie, alongside a field of standout international players. A standout moment of the week? David Puig’s flawless final round, securing him the coveted Joe Kirkwood Cup.

Across the four-day event, the Merlo team brought their very best, creating a vibrant café experience right on the course. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee drifted across the greens as we served expertly crafted beverages, keeping players, volunteers, and spectators energised from the first tee to the final putt. 

As the exclusive coffee provider, our Merlo van quickly became a go-to hub for refreshment. We welcomed hundreds of guests, each cup brewed with care by our talented team. Alongside our van, we also provided beans & cups to all coffee vendors on site including the coveted Kirkwood Club, BMW Suites and the beloved volunteer’s tent. Making Merlo the coffee bean of choice at this year’s PGA Championship in Brisbane.

To help everyone beat the Brisbane heat, we offered a range of chilled options alongside our signature blends, including our beloved Esspresso beans a crowd favourite with both regulars and first-timers.

While we’re big golf fans at Merlo, our presence at the Championship was about more than the sport.
