Zuri means beautiful in Swahili, and it's a fitting name. This blend celebrates the best of East Africa, the birthplace of coffee, bringing together four origins for a cup that's bright, sweet, and unlike anything else in our range.
Zuri is made from 100% Arabica beans sourced from Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, and Rwanda. Grown at high altitudes between 1,200 and 2,050 metres, each origin brings something different to the blend. Ethiopian Heirloom adds floral notes, Kenyan SL varietals bring brightness, Rwandan Bourbon adds silky texture, and Zambian beans round it all out with a full body and fruity depth.
The result is a medium-bodied coffee with dark honey, raspberry, and orange zest on the palate, a blueberry and cherry aroma, and a refreshing blood orange finish. It's sweet, smooth, and well balanced from first sip to last.

Zuri works well across most brew methods. As an espresso, the berry notes and zesty orange acidity really come through. Add milk and you get a different side of it, a well-rounded cashew sweetness with a hint of molasses. It's also a great choice for plunger, stovetop, drip, or AeroPress.
1. How is Zuri different from other Merlo blends?
Zuri is our only all-African blend and the most fruit-forward in our range. Where blends like Private and Organico lean toward chocolate and nuts, Zuri goes in a different direction with berry, citrus, and honey notes. It's a good pick if you want something a bit more distinctive.
2. Is it suitable for milk-based coffees?
Yes. It changes character nicely with milk, bringing out cashew and molasses notes that you don't get as clearly in black coffee. Works well as a latte or flat white.
