Hand-picked from the farm, straight to the cup, our Costa Rica coffee is seriously good. Coffee is serious business to Costa Ricans too, with several laws in place to protect the quality of the coffee production that comes out of the country.

Only allowing species of Arabic coffee to be grown at a federal degree, all coffee that comes out of Costa Rica is detailed, high quality and delicious.

Beans from Papua New Guinea are some of the most exciting and wildest coffee to be introduced into our Merlo Single Origins. Grown in the highlands, these coffee plants are relatives to the famous Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee estates, sharing many of the same unique flavours.

Ethiopian Single Origin Coffee

As the birthplace of coffee, are you really surprised that this coffee is one of the worlds favourites? Ancient Ethiopian history claims that an Ethiopian goat herder first discovered coffee around 850 AD. This has since grown into the worlds 5th largest coffee-producing nation.

Brazil Single Origin Coffee

Looking for an introductory Single Origin bean to try? Look no further! For 150 years, Brazil has been producing more coffee than any other country in the world and makes up for one third of current global coffee production.

The RFA (Rainforest Alliance certified) means that the certified product or ingredient was produced using methods that support the three pillars of sustainability: social, economic, and environmental.

Tasting Notes:

Flavour - Chocolate, Nutty & Sweet
Aroma - Chocolate, Earthy & Sweet
Body - Medium.

PLUNGER [coarse grind: 6.2]
Plunger (or French Press) and other similar immersion brew devices, which involved the ground coffee having contact with the water for an extended time. A coarse grind is most effective.

AEROPRESS & FILTER [medium grind: 5.7]
This category includes a range of brew devices that use filters (paper or reusable). Devices include the AeroPress, & AeroPressGo, the Hario V60, Chemex & Fretta, the MoccaMaster and other cone-filtered methods where water is poured over ground coffee. A medium grind is recommended.

Turkish coffee combines extra finely ground coffee with water, boiling it in a small pot. An extra-fine grind is essential because Turkish coffee is served unfiltered.

Please note: while we try and grind to your specific settings, we cannot guarantee the grind setting will be exact for your set up.
