OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW

The Grindenstein Coffee Knock Box is a compact, purpose-built tamper bin designed for the home barista who takes their espresso setup seriously. What sets it apart from a standard knock box is simple: it was specifically engineered to sit on your espresso machine's drip tray, directly under the group head, keeping your benchtop completely clear. It's small, it's quiet, it's virtually indestructible, and once you have one, you won't know how you managed without it.

Engineered to Fit Your Machine, Not Fight It

Most knock boxes are an afterthought, a container you squeeze onto an already crowded bench. Grindenstein was designed from the ground up to solve that problem. Its compact footprint (10.2cm x 11cm) and low profile height mean it tucks neatly onto the drip tray of your espresso machine, sitting right where you need it without stealing bench space. Whether you're pulling one morning shot or a run of back-to-back espressos, the Grindenstein is always within reach and never in the way.

Space-Saving Storage: When not in use, Grindenstein lives on your machine's drip tray, not on your bench. That means a cleaner kitchen, a more organised workflow, and no more shuffling things around every time you make a coffee.

Right-Sized for Home Use: The Grindenstein holds 6 to 8 spent pucks before needing to be emptied. That's the right capacity for daily home espresso use, enough for a full day's worth of shots, while encouraging regular cleaning that keeps it hygienic and mould-free.

The Knock Bar That Won't Let You Down

The heart of the Grindenstein is its patented knock bar. A solid steel core is wrapped in a thick Santoprene rubber sleeve, giving you the structural strength to eject even the most stubborn puck on the first knock, while the rubber absorbs the striking force so your portafilter handle is protected and the noise is kept impressively low. This is not a knock bar that flexes, wobbles, or eventually snaps. It is built to take years of daily punishment without showing any sign of wear.

Quiet Operation: The Santoprene rubber sleeve doesn't just protect your portafilter. It significantly dampens the impact sound, making your knock routine far less disruptive in a home kitchen environment.

Non-Slip Base: A rubber ring on the base keeps the Grindenstein firmly in place on the drip tray or benchtop during use, so it absorbs the knock rather than sliding across the counter.

Built for Daily Use, Easy to Maintain

Grindenstein's ABS plastic body is tough, lightweight, and completely resistant to the moisture and staining that comes with daily puck disposal. When it's time for a clean, simply place it on the top rack of your dishwasher. No disassembly, no scrubbing, no fuss. It also comes with a booklet on how to recycle your spent coffee grounds as a natural fertiliser, so nothing from your espresso routine goes to waste.
