Coffee training sessions are one of the most valuable things you can provide your staff as it improves product quality and consistency. Our sessions offer anything from basic to advanced classes, depending on the your team experience level.
If you let us know the experience level of your staff ahead of time, we'll cater the lesson specifically for them!
Here are some examples of the type of training we provide:
Basic coffee training is best suited to beginners, those with some industry experience or experienced barista's new to using Merlo Coffee.
Content covered includes the bean, equipment, quality extraction, milk texturising, pouring and end-of-day cleaning.
Advanced coffee training is best suited to experienced barista's.
Content covered includes grind adjustment, palate training, latte art, machine and grinder troubleshooting.
‘Train the Trainer’ is another format perfect for larger business with a lot of staff.
Here we equip the managers/team leaders in key barista training areas who then pass that knowledge and skill back to team members for training inhouse.
We trialed this in 2020 with great success, and found that these sessions allow staff to receive a more focused and structured training.

How long do the sessions run for? Training runs for 2 hours with groups capped at 4 people per session.
Where? 104 McLachlan Street (Cnr James Street), Fortitude Valley.
Paid street parking may be available or there is a secure parking station around the corner in Connor Street.
