Kamandaka is grown in the hills surrounding Bandung in West Java. The high elevation means that this region is cooler than the rest of Indonesia and the rich soil from the (still active!) volcanoes is perfect for coffee growing. Processed at the Banyu Giri (Mountain Water) mill using the traditional Giling Basah method, this is a sweet and rich coffee in the tradition of the best coffees to come from Indonesia: sweet, rich, and dense, with earthy notes and spice, fruit and dark chocolate. Full-bodied and larger than life, this coffee is bold and perfectly suited to espresso coffees, with milk or black. As a filter roast, the fruity characteristics come through and the spice becomes sweeter and more pronounced.
