Bean of the Month - Colombia La Plata

Colombia La Plata is a typically delicious offering from a country that offers some of the best growing conditions in the world for coffee. 

La Plata offers a clean and well balanced cup featuring flavour notes of dark chocolate, hazelnut and caramel, mild acidity, smooth body with a lingering cocoa aftertaste.

These flavoursome beans are produced by a multitude of smallholder farms, each approximately 1 Hectare in size and predominantly made up of of volcanic ash soil. Temperatures in the region range from 17-22 degrees Celcius, and the farms are located 1700-1800 meters above sea level. 

This coffee is produced by growers from Huila, and with the support of the OCCICAFE Cooperative - the highest standards of quality are maintained, and the farmers are paid a premium for their produce.

We highly recommend brewing this full-bodied coffee with a stovetop device such as the Bialetti Moka Express or the Bialetti Venus.
