The Dry Lakes Racers Australia (DLRA) will hold the 28th Annual Speed Week at Lake Gairdner in South Australia on Monday 12th of March to Friday 16th of March.
In the hot, dry outback of South Australia, on a salt lake big enough to be seen from space, our friend Bradley Bowden will be riding on his Kawasaki H2 motorcycle. There is no setting like it anywhere else in the world. In a spectacular location and one of the only places in the world where you can go flat out for 12 miles, Speed Week is a truly unique event where you can ride alongside kangaroos, emus, goats, sheep and underneath wedgetail eagles.
The event will draw an amazing range of cars, motorcycles and trucks dating from the turn of the century to modern day. It’s a riders dream – straight line speed on “the big white dyno”, going as fast as you can in the remote Australian outback.
Bradley Bowden came into Merlo HQ recently to show off his wheels before he heads down south for the race. We wish him all the best and look forward to seeing the Merlo blue on the salt flats!
