Bean of the Month - Guatemala Margarita Barberena

Originating in Pueblo Nuevo Vinas, Guatemala, 'Finca Margarita' is farmed in some of the most nutrient-dense soil in the world, resulting in an outstanding coffee bean.

Temperatures here average between 14 and 30 degrees Celsius in a sub-tropical rainforest that experiences around 2,300mm of rain per year.

The farm has five water springs and abundant native forest canopy of 537Ha (305Ha planted with coffee). Guatemala Margarita Barberena was sourced via TG-LAB, a company dedicated to quality improvement of beans and better price outcomes for the farmers - leading ultimately to better taste outcomes for the consumer!

The farm these beans are grown from is graded as 'SHG EP' (Strictly High Grown), meaning the coffee is grown at high altitude. This allows the bean to develop slower, resulting in a denser and higher quality bean. This process is further enhanced by the farms natural shade canopy.
