salute the stovetop
  • Stovetops need to be made to capacity to get the best result so
consider what size best suits your needs
  • Coffee should be custom ground at home or by your Merlo Coffee expert
  • Use filtered water for a better flavour and to reduce scale build-up
  • Use cold water in the base and fill to just below the safety valve
  • Fill the basket with coffee level to the top, and level flat
  • Place on a medium heat, either gas or electric
  • Remove from the heat when the top chamber begins to hiss towards the
    middle of the filling process
  • Coffee will become bitter if left on the heat
  • Warm cups with hot water and pour your coffee straight away –  into an espresso glass or about 1/3 of a mug
  • If you like milk style coffees use a stove top milk frother to heat the milk while your coffee is brewing
  • When the coffee is ready and the milk has reached your preferred temperature froth the milk using the hand pump
  • Pour milk into the freshly brewed espresso
  • Always clean your equipment thoroughly, without detergent or a dishwasher
